Lotaw-lotaw Beach Resort

Yes, finally I’ve created my own blog account…

I was actually looking for ways to help ease up the exhausting work I gotten into…and the only thing I can think of is to document my every travel.

I’ve been just hired as a Survey Assistant by the Land Administration and Management Project Phase 2 (LAMP2) last Monday, the 6th day of July, 2009.

Yeah, I’ve accepted the job I’ve been trying to avoid…It’s not that I hate it so much, it’s just that the work is really straining and exhausting. Yeah, strength and endurance is very much needed in the field work where you’ll get to climb every mountain and hill in the conduct of the land survey.

I’ve actually applied for other jobs here in Leyte but I just couldn’t get to try applying outside the locale due to the financial difficulty that I’m having. And so when I was asked to be an alternate to a survey assistant who was fired, I accepted the offer without any doubt. LAMP2 is also the office where I spent my on-the-job training/practicum so I already knew most of the field men. Aside from that, the employment process has been unfussy—not so much documents were needed like NBI, Police clearance, etc—probably because I’m just on a Job Order status and they are really in need of a replacement to the survey assistant who’s been laid off.

It’s been half a year since my first assignment in the field—that was…way back last January 2009 when I had my on-the-job training. And it gave me a nostalgic feeling when I began my work in the field last Monday. Yeah, I was assigned in the team I was assigned to last January—correction team lead by Manu Buboy, Manu Fred, Kuya Dario, and my classmate, Deberts.

Adding to the nostalgic feeling was the assigned place—Matalom, Leyte—where we spent our nights sleeping by the shore, yeah, literally on the sands of Matalom. Thank god, this time we were already given rooms to stay.

Six months had passed and many had changed to the Lotaw-lotaw beach resort...

The once vivacious place has already become a perfect place for solitude…

That was because a number of the personnel of LAMP who were staying in the resort were laid off last May. Apart from that, the stay of the LAM Project in Matalom is ending until this week spending a year of operation in the area.
