SIDE TRIP, Part 2

Friday, 27 March 2010. After 3 hours of sleep, I woke up or say awaken by Wintong reminding me of my Trip to Banaue. I went home at 2 in the morning then from a drinking session with Sir Nonong, Sir Sandi and Sir Estong (who brought me to a bar at 1PM), climbing up the gate to get into my room. I was so tipsy then after the drink, thanks to my board mates who supported me through the gate. With my phone empty of battery, I asked Wintong to wake me up at 5AM. With his gir friend staying sleeping in his bed, I believe he was having a hard time sleeping in the adjacent room (the creepy one).hehe

VISIT TO BANAUE RICE TERRACES

The departure time was 6 but I arrived a bit later. hehe... Kuya Larry fetched me up knowing that I won't be able to wake up early.
On the meeting area were Maritza ( the Project TA on GIS from Australia) and other personnel of the LGU...
Thank God I wasn't the only one who's late. Maam Sheng was also late. :D
The trip was not so long (about an hour and a half) with many a winding road after the Nueva Vizcaya boundary, with me sleeping most of the time.

My Last Monday in Bayombong

Got home at 7:38PM because of Overtime. Found my room empty so I hurried back to the street, saw an internet cafe and decided to write on a little of how my day has been.

Interviews with the clients here, there, and a chit chat in here...
Stayed in the Automation Room during the morning...
Had lunch with Sir Nonong and his daughter (who admitted she just loves Melissa of PBB), & Kuya Larry...
Attended the first ever meeting my work was related to...
and finally rewritten my interview notes by the afternoon.

And just when I thought my day was over...tan tanan nan....an OT.

Haha. Overtime KUNU. I took part in the overtime work that Ate Nes and Kuya Larry had made just to finish their work on the LGPMS that they were asked to submit by Wednesday (if I'm not mistaken). Anyhow, I won't have anything to do in my boarding house, I thought. My boarding house's been a BORING house since I returned last Monday. All the other boarders that I had made friends with have all gone home leaving me with only Teacher Nathan and Wintong (who went home last saturday after a 3-day extension on his intended departure...) Wintong then was waiting for the money his parents would send him for his fare. Wintong's been working hard to support his studies...working as a tricycle driver at night and goes to school during the day. What an inspiring story to be shared. Taking up an engineering course, I don't think I could make it if I was in his shoes. With only a few hours of sleep and so little time so spend with a girl friend? Nah. I don' think I really can stand it.

And here's another board mate of mine, Nathan. Well, I've heard people saying that he's homo but it doesn't matte. Well, he was the first one who've welcomed me well in the boarding house the first week I arrived perhaps because he was just the most "palasalita" like how he's described himself. Very well then I went with him when we visited Baguio and found something like...he's really into dancing so much he dances every time he hears his favorite dance tunes. Swaying his hips better than a girls does...Hehe. An odd thing I've observed.

Anyhow, back to the OVERTIME...
Thinking of just staying in the boarding house that has become creepy, I decided to stay with Kuya Larry, Ate Nes and his husband (Sir Dan), and Madam Chai in the office . At least when I get home, I'd just immediately fall asleep. The thought of staying in the boarding house alone in my room just sends shivers down my spine thinking of that old black lady that they say comes out near the house's water pump, outside our room.

And so we stayed in the office with Ate Nes printing out the reports, Madam Chai and Sir Dan helping out binding the printed papers, and I, giving a hand on the analysis of some of the LGPMS tables. By 7PM, we took our dinner( solve na pud ang ako panihapon...haha.) and went home.

Side trips, Part 1

Whoah! After a short stint in Metrobank (that was only two months)…here I go with being a Research Assistant slash Process Documentor, back in the university. Well, I should be thankful to HIM for the trips that I experienced and the places that I’ve been into. I wasn’t really expecting to visit such places as the Summer Capital of the Philippines (Baguio) and the once “One of the 7 man-made wonders of the World”, the renowned Banaue Rice Terraces. Though these were just so-called side-trips of my research work, still it became the highlight of MY TRAVEL(at least that's how I consider it to be.hehe).

PANAGBENGA FESTIVAL 2010 OF BAGUIO

After a week-stay in Bayombong for the Process documentation that I’m working on, I was surprised to know that my visit coincides with Baguio’s Celebration of their colorful flower festival, the PANAGBENGA 2010. Baguio is just a two-hour drive from Bayombong when taking on the shortcut route. "So why not try to visit and join the celebration"?, I told myself. So Friday, February 28, together with my roommate (teacher Nathan) who was as eager as I am to witness the celebration, we took the 8 o’clock bus for Baguio taking on the 7-hour route. We arrived at 2AM Saturday and started roaming around Burnham Park & Baguio’s City Hall, waiting for the sun to rise. We met Glaiza and Gladyz Guiwa (Nathan's friends) and stayed in their boarding house during the night.

Sunday afternoon and I had an eye-ball with my Auntie Ellen. Yeah...our very first meeting in SM Baguio.

"Anong kulay ng suot mo auntie?" haha... I haven't really seen auntie Ellen even on pictures, so I was like a teenager looking for his ka-eyeball. haha.
She's the cousin of my mother who've been working in Baguio for almost 7 years.
